What is Love?
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
This course, Game Prototype Studio, is a course in which I and fellow classmates had to make a game prototype each week. Each game is to be made with three requirements attached to it: the game engine/tool, the main mechanic of the game, and the main theme of the game.
The tool we used in this project was Unity, the theme of this game was "Love", and the mechanic of the game was that you could only use one button to play the game. I ended up making more of an art piece than a game. I decided to go the art piece route because of the limited button mechanic. Because of this mechanic, I focused much more on ambiance and camera angles than actual gameplay. It's similar to a visual novel in terms of mechanics. I learned much about how to use Unity's terrain tools and how to create environments that look much prettier and more realistic than I had ever done before until making this project. The goal of this project was to have a sort of "conversational" feeling between the player and the game. I believe this game also makes the player think about what love is, as the title suggests!
A game made at Azusa Pacific University.
